"Starting Anew... in Hadera 1949-1958"

An apartment of the 1950’s

A typical living room of a middle class family of the 1950’s. The radio on the buffet, plays the music and programs from that period.
A wooden ice box, gas, electric and kerosene cooking stoves are in the kitchen, demonstrating a time of change in life styles.
Through the apartment window, a panorama of the nearby Ma’abara (transit camp) for new immigrants can be seen. Photographs of the immigrants and of the Hadera transit camps and some new living quarters for Olim (immigrants) around the city, portray everyday life .
